Merry Christmas: and get this lot done for when we come back

Over Christmas you need to complete the following work so we are ready to code properly in January.

  • Make sure you fully understand all that you want to do on at least your Title screen. In detail as I can't guide you if you don't know what you want to achieve.

  • Make sure you have all your background graphics organised (either as separate images PNG format or on a sprite sheet)

  • Make sure you have all your sprites organised on a sprite sheet with a transparent background (save as a PNG file)

If we don't have these complete then you will put back your development on your front end and leave yourself short on coding time.

Unit 20 Final submission

You will shortly be getting your feedback on Unit 20, this feedback will cover a current working mark for your project out of 50. use the common issues guide on the Unit 20 section of the Intranet to relate this to your nilpit feedback.

You need to take on board the comments that have been made and make changes to your portfolio in order to improve your work. Make sure you track the changes you make by making comments on the nilpit entry. This will allow me to easily check what work you've attempted to improve, which will make my final assembly job easier and allow me time to give you some last minute feedback.

Your final submission date will be Monday 17th December 2012.

It is important that you maximise your efforts on U20 as this is the least complex to organise of all the units you are working on this year.

Make sure you look through the portfolio guide and check the dividers to ensure that all elements have been at least covered. We do not want to leave holes.

Ensure your bibliography is complete and includes several non-web related references.

I will give this work a final mark and if I feel there are things you can improve I will give you pointers as to what you can do (I will place these on the Nilpit system). You will not get the folders back but you will be able to work on this over Christmas and hand in direct replacements on the first day back Monday 7th January 2013 - I must receive the work before 11am - I will not accept it after this time

You will only be allowed to replace or produce the items I have listed on your Nilpit (this is not time for you to carry on working on the unit - you have had plenty of time to do the corrections you were given at the start of December), I will not have time to rebuild your folders so don't attempt this as I will refuse to accept the work. Do not attempt to hand anything after this date as I need to complete all exam board paperwork that night and send off the next morning.

U17 Specification Hand in

On Friday 30th November 2012 you need to hand in the specification section of the the game programming portfolio.

Make sure that you have produced your best documents within each section.

Place the work in the correct order based on the divider (if you have lost your dividers then re-print a set from the Intranet - make sure you turn back to back printing off first)

I will mark this section and give you feedback in the following way:

  • specific marks where appropriate on the work
  • an detailed personal entry on your Nilpit for unit 17 with a current assessed score
  • a global issues document which I will place on the unit 17 section of the Intranet

Use these pieces of feedback to ensure you make the best available improvements to your work to ensure you get the best possible score for this section.
